Life
is an Adventure!

What's a MidLifeDiva? MidLifeDiva’s have nothing to do with Opera. They are all
about attitude and celebrating the things that happen to us at this phase in
our lives. We don't have crises; we have adventures. We learn to do what we
can, adjust to the rest or tell it to take a flying leap. We know the value of
connections and have learned that sometimes, when we need nurturing, we have to
nurture ourselves. We laugh and cry in equal amounts and sometimes about the
same things. We say "I love you" because we mean it and know that
it's important for those we love to hear it, not because we need to hear it in
return. We sing in our cars and don't care what the guy in the next lane at the
red light thinks. If he doesn't understand that Patti Labelle is a religious
experience, it's his tough luck! We dance with children and our elders and
sometimes with the vacuum sweeper. We appreciate good shoes and are delighted
that function is more important than fashion, but there's always a chance we
still have a pair of 'slut' shoes in the back of the closet somewhere and once
in a while, we might get them out and chuckle at where they've been. We know
that life is full of options and we'll try the ones we want to try and not
apologize for the rest. We quote philosophers and politicians and inventors and
our best friends with equal reverence. We remember our pasts, but don't wear
them like a badge. We look to our futures with enthusiasm and anticipation. And
we live in the present with honor and we hope a tiny bit of grace. We are women
at midlife and we really like ourselves.
